Pitching Wedges come in different lofts, the carry distance differences between them and your highest lofted wedges. Lets say you are hitting a 56% sand wedge an average of 88 yards,  and a 47% pitching wedge an average of 110 yards. This leaves a 22 yard difference to fill. If you find a club that goes 100 yards this would likely be a 52% wedge you can split the difference by 10 yards each way. One reason is that you can choke down and take a three quarter swing rather than muscling a sand wedge.

If you buy a game improvement set with a 45% pitching wedge which you can probably hit 115 yards, you will have a 27 yard difference to worry about. To get optimal spacing in your wedges you might considering changing to a 50, 54 and 60% wedges or even maybe 52 and 58% wedges.

What I can suggest is a 4% difference between your clubs. If you are not sure of this check with your golf pro he can put you on to a fitting system to determine how to fill out your own set.
