3 Golden Rules to Buy Golf Equipment

One of the most popular sports in the whole wide world is the golf. It is actually a sport being played andenjoyed by any individual using outstanding clubs to hit the golf balls into a hole. If truth be told, you cannot play golf without having with you all the necessary golf equipment and accessories. Thus, you need to buy golf equipment as well as accessories first before going to the golf course and play with all your friends. Some of the pieces of equipment and accessories that you really need are the golf clubs, bags, balls, gloves.

You have to bear in mind some rules in buying your own golf equipment and accessories. The following are some of the golden rules that you should always remember:

1. Consider your budget. It is undeniable that golf is somewhat an expensive sport to play. Hence, you have to choose gears and equipment that are affordable but at the same time very efficient.

2. Choose the best type of golf equipment and accessories as much as possible. In doing so, you can surely play the golf at your best. However, this does not mean that the best type is costly. This is due to the fact that there are times when cheap pre-owned or used pieces of golf equipment are still in good condition and can function really well. After all, the good shots are mostly based on the force you have exerted in hitting the ball.

3. Shop around. You should not put your focus in only one golf retailer. Instead, you have to shop around until you find the cost-effective golf equipment and accessories.

The three aforementioned golden rules can definitely make your task to buy golf equipment and accessories a lot easier. Thus, you should remember all those things at all times. After all, there is no harm involved in considering the golden rules mentioned above when you are shopping for your own golf gears and equipment.

Brand Name Loyalty

While doing some reading today I came across this interesting article that talks about mixing and matching your Golf Clubs . I had to laugh because it is the truth.

Are all of the clubs in your bag from the same manufacturer?

I realized that I have absolutely no brand loyalty whatsoever. My putter, wedges, irons, woods, bag and balls all come from several different manufacturers. I don't even have consistency across my woods: my driver TaylorMade, 3-wood is an off brand and Hybrids are Nike.

I would say that my brand loyalty ends at the sale rack. And yet I see people out on the course with the whole shibang: clubs, putter, bag, balls, apparel all from one manufacturer. My opinion is that what I use best is what I will use on the course. If I can hit a straight drive with a certain driver, it's the one for me. Same goes for the Irons I use. I did have them made for me though. Mixing and matching I'm all for it.

When I first started to pay Golf I did want to just have a certain manufacture in my bag, but that went so far. With all the changes going on in the Golf Equipmentworld I did learn what is best for myself. There is alot to say for people who follow there manufacture they believe in there equipment no matter the cost. We all know that golf is a funny game. I have seen tour players who have sponsors, who also mix and match. I really don't know what to think about that. You are getting paid from that sponsor why are you not just using there equipment. Just my little take on that.

If you want just to have brand loyalty go ahead it your game enjoy. There are so many different club makers out there. Test on the driving range or in a simulator what clubs are best for yourself. If one brand only fits you use it. If you have to mix and match by all means use it also. Just find what is best for your Golf game. Recession proof Golf

While golf has long been perceived as recession proof, a few involved in the sport are discovering otherwise. The L.P.G.A. is brought together in this realization by those who make golf clubs and golf balls, retailers who sell them and even instructors of the game. At present, top PGA Tour officials state they have a full schedule and expect to make no cuts in prize money next year. Even if a bankrupt sponsor were pressured to pull out in 2009, the PGA Tour has a large following of sponsors who would jump at the idea of sponsoring a golf tournaments.
The big question is whether this is in fact another cycle," the PGA Tour’s commissioner, Tim Finchem, said in an interview. "If the answer is yes, then it’s really a challenge of getting through the down part of the cycle, which we have done before. We are a conservative organization from a fiscal standpoint. We budget carefully, we build reserves against contingencies, and we think we’re reasonably well prepared."
The L.P.G.A., which has been attempting to construct a firmer financial base, has increased purses for the past 3 years and will keep up its average purse per event at approximately $1.8 million. They are major concerns now is sponsorship renewal and negotiating expanded TV contracts for 2010. The Sports Business Daily rumored this week that only five of the twenty-four events scheduled in the U.S. and Canada had contracts with title sponsors beyond next year. The L.P.G.A. will be cut down 2 to 3 tournaments next year and four million to five million in prize money, said Carolyn Bivens, the tour’s commissioner.
The newspaper headline for the Golf schedule would say, is that no renewal, no partner, no sponsor, no contract. She said in an interview. That stands for us and for just about every other sports organization

Callaway vs Acushnet ?

A federal court in Wilmington, Del., has granted Callaway request for a permanent injunction to stop sales of Acushnet's  Pro V1golf balls, effective Jan. 1, meaning golfers will have to cease using the popular ball. The court also rejected Acushnet's request to overturn a jury verdict that found that the Pro V1 infringed on Callaway's patent. Callaway has sued Acushnet over four patents pertaining to the Pro V1 golf balls. There are four patents, that are several years old and have to do with the solid-core technology that the Pro V1 golf balls use. As you might recall, Top-Flite's ballshad a similar three-layer, solid-core design years before the Pro V1 hit the market.

This is very interesting, why would Callaway weight till now to bring this to court. Callaway has to know what they are doing. Acushnet, Is a giant in the golfing industry, but so is Callaway they are both guns in the Golf Ball world. Who do you think will win ? Oh I could use the money there going to spend. Way to go guys
