Golf Putter Review
A couple decades ago, no one would have thought that putters were the special club in the bag. Skill, determination, patience, sometimes luck would determine the golfer and the tools involved. In this golf putter review, there are a few oddities to consider that some of them are well worth the looks (even the ugly ones). First off is the Guerin Rife Two-Bar Series Putters. The general appearance would give an impression of an oversized two-pronged rounded socket, but the application seems to do justice despite its design. For the bars (the prongs), they are weights that allows adjustment for those who want to make sure they’re not applying too much pressure or strength as they roll the ball down the hole and doubles as an alignment aid. The hosel can also be adjusted to change the lie angle for those who would rather look at the ball in a 90-degree angle. Not to be confused with an actual electrical socket.
Another oddity featured in other golf putterreviews is the Never Compromise GM2 Exchange Putter Series. The design might be something ripped off from a science fiction movie about golfers (if any), but the control is nearly futuristic that any golfer can sink that ball in the hole even if the green is uneven. Made with a durable aluminum body for a lighter feel of the putter, even strong lobs from a ten-foot mark towards the flag can be felt even with novices. The design also incorporates custom weights for strong arms or with the hips, maintaining proper balance and control.
When talking about crazy design, the Ping JAS Craz-e 1 Putter is the one to look at. The mallet-style design has an appearance of two aluminum knuckle-dusters glued together on ends with the shaft added. Despite of its appearance, this putter has the highest moment of inertia that allows a higher degree of forgiveness even at the edge of the green thanks to the tungsten-made head. The black finish gives it a makeover, but there’s probably nothing that can cure ugly.
The Odyssey line of putters has been a favorite by many golfers and featured in golf putterreviews all over and some of them have a variety of designs that can almost describe as weird. Among them is the Odyssey White Hot XG #7 Putter, which incorporates a design most likely a fan of Bram Stoker with a fang-like design that may have even the Count grinning with pride. But this putter undoubtedly has the best control and balance for even newbie golfers. Another putter from the sci-fi world is the Titleist Scotty Cameron Futura Phantom Putters. A mouthful to name, Scotty here can almost resemble the USS Enterprise (with Captain Kirk) if held in an angle, most likely the designer happens to be a big Star Trek fan. But the putter itself is responsive, able to sense even the miniscule impact of the ball for total control and the center of gravity is the highest so far.
