Golf Drivers That Stand Out

For most seasoned golfer, the most coveted piece of golf equipment to own is a golf driver.  While you can easily visit your local department store and buy a driver for $25, serious golfers are willing to pay much more for a more advanced and unique golf driver. With the promise of a longer, straighter drive, a good quality driver can easily cost several hundred or even thousands of dollars.

There are a few drivers that stand out as leaders among all other drivers on the market.  One such driver is the Big Bertha made by Callaway Golf.  Originally they were brought to the market in 1991 and were much different than all other drivers before them.  Up to that time, most drivers were still made with wood, but the Big Bertha was made of stainless steel with a much larger head that previously built.
Another golf equipment manufacturer that build high quality golf drivers is TaylorMade.  They are a leader in the golf industry and build some of the best quality drivers available.  For example, the TaylorMade r7 series.  Consisting of 6 different drivers in the series, the r7 series drivers are for serious golfers.  Built with a graphite shaft that reduces clubhead twisting, there's a TaylorMade r7 series club for just about any golfer.

Ping is yet another manufacturer of high quality golf equipment, including drivers. Currently in the Ping driver lineup there are 8 different drivers to help improve your game in many different ways.  Most often their drivers are built with Titianium and they all feature a medium-high trajectory and all are capable of reducing spin.  The Ping G5 for instance is built for maximum distance and includes a large, 460cc head while the Ping Tisl has a 323cc head and is designed to help reduce a golfers hook or slice.

The last manufacturer of good quality drivers is likely more known for their high quality running shoes, but this does not mean their drivers should be overlooked. Nike is involved in just about every sport out there and have certainly made a mark on the golf industry with their high quality drivers.  Nike Golf currently makes 4 different drivers, the SQ Sumo 5900, the SQ Sumo 5000, as well as two different clubs called the SasQuatch Sumo.  If you're in doubt that a shoe company can produce good quality golf equipment just remember, if it's good enough for Tiger Woods, it's likely good enough for you.  Nike Golf provides Tiger Woods with the drivers and other golf equipment that he needs in order to be a success in the golf world.  Other golfers like Paul Casey, David Duval, Michelle Wie and Carl Pattersson are all using Nike Golf drivers.

For new or experienced golfers the driver is the cornerstone of a great set of golf clubs.  Even though you don't need to spend a fortune to a great time on the course, a good golf driver can help improve your game, giving you longer, straighter shots and helping to keep the score down.
