Asking Price: $400
Lofts: 8.5, 9.5, 10.5, 11.5* (*only in D2)
Titleist's all-titanium line boasts 2 versions. The D2 bears a shallow clubface and a deeper CG for stableness on off-center hits. The Titleist D3 has a deep clubface but is somewhat smaller at 440 cubic centimetre, and the CG is nigher to the clubface to help golfers work the ball. Both feature a milled face insert with a deep internal trapezoidal ring in the middle to better ball speed.
What we like about this club is the ball sounds good coming off the face, simply put the club's not very forgiving. Penetrating ball flight. It's a good well-rounded driver: ideal weight and feel.
Classic look (as always), simple-looking head, precisely the right size. I like the sound: edgy but not too loud. The Titleist D3's smaller head Is not as forgiving as many of the others.
Whats Hot: Classic look, it even feels classic, and the ball has an air of authority about it at impact. The online fitting tutorial allows a baseline training on driver fitting all golf players should have.
Whats Not: A moderate buy at $300 but not enough technology at $400.
