The back edge's outer sole weight pad is configured to add off-centered hit stability. Merely the invisible boost to MOI comes from a lighter shaft that shifts the balance point towards the grip however still provides a heavier clubhead and no change in the swingweight. The theory: additional mass delivered to the ball at the same speed.

What we liked about this driver is that it reminds us of a big porterhouse steak. It's in front of you, and you're drooling for it's so meaty and filling, and there's no way you're sending it back. It goes forever and ever and is just so easy to hit. There's something to be told for being downplayed. It has a crisp sound and doesn't balloon when you hit it.
Very sturdy and strong at address. Large head, only not overdone. Easy on the eyes.

What's Hot: In a world full of exaggerated cases, Ping simply makes things that we desire to use since they work. Just like this club. Plus, Ping fits you better than anybody.
What's Not: For some, the crown's alinement aid conjures Frito Bandito.
